All graduate students have generous accommodations in the department including a reading room and lounge as well as a dedicated consultation room in which teaching assistants can meet with students. The department boasts a reserve library for graduate students researching the American West.

Women's Resource Center Emergency Fund
Offers small grants to students who are in danger of discontinuing their education based on a small financial shortfall. Drop by the WRC in Union 411 for an application.
LGBT Resource Center Emergency Fund
U of U students can apply for up to $300 in emergency funds toward any matter that is getting in the way of their academics.Learn More
Center for Child Care and Family Resources
Locate a child care option that works for you, potential financial support for child care, and discover family programs designed to support students with children.
Feed U Pantry (On Campus)
Provides non-perishable, nourishing food and hygiene kits for U of U students, their families, faculty and staff. To-go meals also available (ask at Union desk).
"Food Stamps" (SNAP - Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program)
Students who meet certain requirements may be eligible for SNAP.
Student Health Center
Services include low-cost appointments for students and family members, HIV/STD testing and counseling, immunizations and low-cost TB Tests, Sports Medicine and Travel clinics, and Prescription Assistance to those who qualify.
Medicaid
Recently expanded in Utah, so you may qualitfy! A state/federal program that covers medical expenses for certain groups of people who have limited income and resources.

Center for Student Wellness

Women's Resource Center
Offers free individual counseling and support groups to University of Utah students, faculty, and staff.
Emergency Housing
If you're currently homeless or displaced or anticipating an issue with housing, the U's Emergency Fund may be able to help. The application is linked below. If you are in this situation and are not eligible for federal financial aid, please contact a Student Success Coach.

Non-University Housing
Register and search for non-university housing options or connect with a potential roommate.
Victim-Survivor Advocates
Assists University of Utah students, faculty, and staff who have experienced sexual violence, domestic violence, stalking, or interpersonal violence.
SafeRide (Offered by Commuter Services)
Students, faculty and staff can request a SafeRide to and from any location on campus (except Research Park) Monday through Friday, 6 PM to 12:30 AM using an app.
SafeUT App
The SafeUT Crisis Text and Tip Line is a statewide service that provides real-time crisis intervention through texting and a confidential tip program – right from your smartphone.
